The Challenge
In early 2023, our client in Egypt was upgrading 3D Secure infrastructure to the latest version of EMVCo. standard, adding support for RBA and frictionless authentication principles. At the time, our client was using an old version 1 standard. This old technology is incompatible with modern digital platforms, both security-wise and user experience-wise.Â
D8 Corporation was chosen by our client as a reputable partner with a solid operational history, with EMVCo. certified acquiring 3D Secure components and experience in implementing 3D Secure projects in the past. In addition, our client needed a partner to offer the solution under the SaaS commercial model.Â
Solution We Offered
We offered our standard EMV ACS component, which is part of our 3D Secure Solution. EMV ACS is an EMVCo. certified 3D Secure version 2 issuing-side component, incorporating all of the RBA features of the 2-nd 3D Secure version – RBA engine, processing more than 100 different transaction parameters to determine if an authentication challenge for a particular transaction is required, configurable authentication screens that can be customized to each organization’s branding requirements, and other features. Our ACS component makes upgrading 3D Secure to version 2 seamless, since it includes all the necessary components.Â
EMV ACS uses standardized interfaces for integrating with Directory Servers and acquiring-side 3D Secure components in the 3D Secure ecosystem. Within this project, D8 Corporation supplied a 3D Secure Solution core module with 3DS Server components and plugins for native integration of 3D Secure authentication requests into merchants’ websites. 3D Secure Solution was provided as a SaaS solution and it allowed our client to launch the solution quickly, and upscale it later as necessary, without incurring huge upfront CAPEX costs.
D8 Corporation team also supported our client throughout project end-to-end certification in payment networks and during integration and testing with merchants.
The Results
