The Challenge
As the Georgian market rapidly adopts digital and mobile technologies across all segments of the economy, so do consumer tastes and preferences change. In 2021, Georgia’s e-commerce space was experiencing strong growth in demand, with e-commerce purchases’ share in the total consumer spending rising rapidly. Moreover, reputable Georgian market analysts projected this growth to be sustainable for at least the next few years.
These Georgia’s e-commerce market trends created a strong demand for acquiring services from merchants. Our client, as a bank with historically strong positions in acquiring business, decided to enter the e-commerce acquiring space and expand its market share in the overall acquiring industry. To do that, our client needed a reliable technology partner to build an e-commerce acquiring infrastructure for them.
Solution We Offered
We offered our client a Merchant Management Platform. The Merchant Management Platform is a complete platform for building merchant management infrastructure of any scale and complexity. To ensure a smooth implementation process, without doing a lot of rework, we also offered Payments Consulting service, helping our client define business and technical requirements for the project.Â
For onboarding merchants, our client wanted us to re-use their existing front office as much as possible. Thus, we split the onboarding and ongoing management between the two systems. Onboarding is handled through the already existing back office system with no additional changes to the process itself. Ongoing relationship management after successful onboarding was delegated to the merchant portal module of the Merchant Management Platform. Merchant Portal offers administrators from the merchants’ side a convenient dashboard with all operative information about transaction flow, registered stores and terminals, commissions paid, etc.Â
The Results
- Quickly launched the system within 4 months
- Custom integrations created with our client's existing onboarding
