The Challenge
In 2022, an acquirer in the UK was on the lookout for a major upgrade to their acquiring infrastructure that could support rapidly growing business volumes, at the same time remaining in full control over growing expenses. The decision was made to upgrade acquiring services by migrating acquiring infrastructure from our client’s existing deprecated and inflexible platform to the more modern, web services-oriented solution.
One of the crucial aspects in the vendor selection process for our client was the ability of the vendor to cover the full spectrum of payment card business needs for our client, as the company was planning to become a payment card issuer sometime in the coming years.
Our client chose the Payment Acquiring Platform from D8 due to its scalability, flexible and cloud-ready deployment options, and a predominantly open-source technological stack that is easier to administer and less expensive to operate in the long term. Migrating acquiring infrastructure would also be easier due to the flexible data import/export options our system offers.
Solution We Offered
We offered to break the complex project into two major stages. During the first stage, we would be migrating the acquiring infrastructure of our client from their current legacy platform to our Payment Acquiring Platform. During the second stage, we are planning to launch their own CMS system when our client decides to enter the issuing business. The first phase of this project is nearly completed. The solution is scheduled to be fully live and operational until the end of 2023. We’re planning to begin the second stage of this project early in 2024.
The Results
- Migrated the portfolio of merchants to a new system
- Achieved a target TPS performance
- Client is testing the solution prior to going live
