Yesterday one of our prominent customers in the Baltics, Citadele Bank, went live with the enhancement of their ApplePay installation that now allows their customers to use ApplePay not only with Visa cards but also with Mastercard cards.
Since the launch of Citadele’s ApplePay service earlier this year, the popularity of this service among the bank’s customers was steadily growing and it was a logical next step to add support for other payment networks as well. This project is a part of the efforts Citadele took together with D8 Corporation to create convenient and accessible payment services in the Baltics.
ApplePay installation of Citadele Bank is based on the Tokenization Platform platform, which is created specifically for card issuers who want to introduce multi-channel digital payment services to their customers (offering them issuer wallets, giant wallets like ApplePay, SamsungPay, and GooglePay or wearable payments systems, such as GarminPay as payment channels).
One of the main advantages of the Tokenization Platform platform is its ability to be deployed and scaled in several stages independently, where functionality introduced during the first stage will be completely unaffected by the functionality introduced at later stages, thus giving the issuers who choose this platform a lot of flexibility in planning their implementation and roll-out schedules.
